Step by step…
forward is enough.
I’m Jeanie Gother—a wee Scottish woman with a big heart. I share stories of survival, healing, courage, and hope for anyone who has ever felt alone in what they have lived through.
You do not have to have everything figured out today. Sometimes, the next small step is enough.

For many years, I carried parts of my story in silence.
I began writing because I wanted to give the younger Jeanie a voice—the little girl who had so much to say but did not always feel able to speak.
What began as a way to express my own experiences gradually became something more. Writing allowed me to change the way I understood my story. It also gave me a way to reach someone who might be feeling as frightened, unheard, or alone as I once did.
My books speak honestly about childhood trauma, homelessness, cancer, and the long journey towards recovery. But they are not only about what happened to me. They are also about courage, love, laughter, friendship, and hope.
I share my story because I want survivors of abuse and cancer to feel seen and heard. I cannot walk another person’s path for them, but I can offer an honest voice, a compassionate presence, and a reminder that change is possible.

Wee Jeanie
No More Whispering
Wee Jeanie is my seventh book and the most personal story I have written. It gives space and a voice to the little girl I once was—the child who survived, carried on, and waited many years to be heard.
This is a story about childhood trauma and silence, but it is also a story about reclaiming a voice. It reminds us that the past may shape parts of our lives, but it does not have to write every chapter of our future.

The Journey
with Jeanie
Healing is rarely a straight road. It unfolds through stories, conversations, relationships, difficult days, and small moments of possibility. Through The Journey with Jeanie, I share honest conversations and reflections about survival, recovery, writing, courage, and learning to move forward without denying where we have been.

Meet the Healing Hounds
Sometimes comfort arrives on four paws. The Healing Hounds are a much-loved part of my life and my journey. They bring companionship, warmth, laughter, and the kind of quiet presence that does not demand explanations.

Some stories are spoken. Others become an article, a reflection, or a few carefully chosen words written in a quiet moment. Expression brings together Jeanie’s latest podcast episode, article, and poem—three different ways of sharing the journey.
My role in
The Empowering Story
I’m proud to be a partner in The Empowering Story, founded by Jean Dorff.
I bring my lived experience as a survivor, my voice as an author, and my belief that our past does not have to decide every chapter of our future. Sharing my story helped me begin to change the narrative of my own life. Now I want to help others feel heard, rediscover hope, and take their own next step.
Healing is deeply personal. My role is to bring compassion, honesty, and encouragement to this work—one conversation and one step at a time.
Reclaim your voice. Rebuild your confidence.
I support survivors of childhood abuse and cancer as they reclaim their voice, rebuild their confidence, and move forward with greater clarity and hope.
You do not have to navigate this journey alone.
Our conversations begin with where you are now—not with where anyone else thinks you should be. Together, we can explore what you have experienced, what you need, and what a meaningful next step may look like for you.

Sometimes courage begins with being heard. Sometimes hope returns through a story, a conversation, a faithful companion, or the discovery that someone else understands. Whatever brought you here, you are welcome.
